So there was a lot of people moving out to

Kilbarrack, Donaghmede, Tallaght, wherever
And all, all the people that were left in Ballymun
Were people that didn´t really have jobs
Or were single parents
And there was actually a lot of
Institu- mental health institutes
That were kinda shutting down and people were then being
Accommodated in Ballymun, hmm so over-over time then what happened was
Ballymun had a huge amount of trauma in the area, yeah
Then obviously drug dealers
Probably you know didn´t realise it at the time
But when heroin hit the country
You know it became a very lucrative area
To sell drugs because people with trauma

Use drugs to overcome, yeah the psychological pain yeah
And that´s what happened
And so-so essentially Ballymun was ghettoized
By the government
